Since there are no boundries in the polar regions — the Arctic is ocean and the continent of Antarctica has no nations - time zone lines follow longitude lines in these places. Since all longitude lines come together at the poles, you can walk through all of the time zones in seconds by walking around the pole that marks the South Pole. In between the torrid and frigid zones lie the temperate zones, which have features of both of the other two. In the Northern Hemisphere, the temperate zone is bound by the Tropic of Cancer and the Arctic Circle. In the Southern Hemisphere, it extends from the Tropic of Capricorn to the Antarctic : Tiffany Means.

Personally, I prefer travelling to these regions in the summer, not just for the warmer climate, but also the longer hours of daylight known as the Midnight Sun. Polar Nights just do not agree with me, I start feeling tired way too early and the window for exploration is only opened for a few hours per day whilst the sun sits just below the horizon. The torrid zone refers to the area of the earth near the equator and is generally warm. It has a wet and dry season but does not experience the four seasons familiar to residents of the temperate zones.

The warmth of the torrid zone influences its weather, ecosystems and geographic features. The five main latitude regions of the Earth's surface comprise geographical zones, divided by the major circles of differences between them relate to are as follows: The North frigid zone, between the Arctic Circle ° N and the North Pole 90° N.

Earth's climate can be divided into three major zones: the coldest polar zone, warm and humid tropical zone, and the moderate temperate zone. The polar climate zones fill the areas within the Arctic and Antarctic Circles, extending from degrees north and south latitude to the poles.

Characterized by a short, cool summer and long, bitterly. Geographically, the torrid zone is defined by degrees north latitude and degrees south latitude.

The tropic zone is another name for the torrid zone. A polar circle is a geographic term for a conditional circular line (arc) referring either to the Arctic Circle or the Antarctic Circle. It is one of major circles of latitude (parallels). On Earth, the Arctic Circle is located at a latitude of 66°33′″ N, and the Antarctic Circle is located at a latitude of 66°33′″ S.

Temperate zone definition, the part of the earth's surface lying between the tropic of Cancer and the Arctic Circle in the Northern Hemisphere or between the tropic of Capricorn and the Antarctic Circle in the Southern Hemisphere, and characterized by having a climate that is warm in the summer, cold in the winter, and moderate in the spring and fall.

The Arctic is the region around the North Pole, usually understood as the area within the Arctic Circle. It includes parts of Russia, Scandinavia, Greenland, Canada, Alaska and the Arctic Ocean. During winter, the whole area is normally covered by ice and temperature easily reaches ° C.

Arctic and Subarctic Regions. The region encircling the North Pole is called the Arctic Circle, an invisible circle of latitude (imaginary line around the Earth parallel to the equator) at 66°33' arctic region sits inside the Arctic Circle and the subarctic region lies just below it.
